To strengthen the connection between indoors and out, we designed an open floor plan centered around expansive glazing. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding woods, allowing natural light to pour in throughout the day. At the same time, clean lines and minimalist detailing keep the interior warm and uncluttered.
In addition, Scandinavian design principles guided material selection and spatial flow. Natural textures, balanced proportions, and thoughtful restraint create a peaceful living environment that feels elevated without being formal.
Every design decision served a clear purpose. The home’s orientation captures key views of the forest, while carefully selected materials reinforce durability and comfort. Because of this approach, the finished home feels like a retreat—quiet, refined, and perfectly suited to its setting.
Just as important, this project was a true collaboration. Working directly with the homeowner throughout the design-build process allowed ideas to evolve naturally and confidently.
